It's very important for the system capability of the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) to have a good antenna. The dual_frequency coplanar microstrip antenna has the merits of small size, light weight and conformal ability, so it will bring great advantage once this antenna were used in the SAR. In the other countries, the study in this field has been coming to ripeness. Some correlative departments began to study the subject in our country. In my study, I have analyzed the structure, size and phase of the unit cell of the dual-polarization microstrip antenna in the frequencies of 2.1 GHz (L band) and 8.6GHz (X band) with the finite-difference time-domain method (FDTD). At the same time, I analyzed the influence of the two forms of dual frequency and got a good result in the coplanarity. In order to decline the backward radiation, it was created in a new structure of feeding in the back side. We made this antenna with 2×2 unit-cell array in L-band, and the antenna also is 8×8 unit-cell array in X-band. After the modulation, the stationary wave is below 2. We measured the radiation patterns of the antenna in the microwave camber. The results indicate the good ability of this antenna.
