The purpose of this research is through the design work of a general purpose controller chip-CC2112a which implants Motorola's 32-bits embedded CPU M210s, to explore a embedded System-on-Chip(SoC) design techniques as well as verify a design platform. With the rapid growth of the IC technique development, the calling of a multi-function chip is increasing. The notion of SoC is introduced into the field of IC design and IP reuse standards have been founded in industries in North American and Europe. Meanwhile, mobile electronic applications gives a great challenge to the design of embedded MCU(Micro Controlling Unit) based System-on-Chip ICs.The research work realizes the IC design based on Motorola's 32bits embedded MCU. This is the first commercial product of 32bit general purpose controlling chip. Through this design, we also verified the M*Core and some other important IPs' reuse feasibility. It is a very meaningful explore to propose our own IP reuse standard. This paper describes in detail how to realize a moderate complex system-on-chip design. It first gives a brief introduction to the project and starting from Chapter 2, the paper discusses the module design, generating netlist, layout design, physical verification and post-simulation respectively in sequence according to the flow. In the end is a review of the research work.
