Digital Microscopy system greatly extends capability of conventional optical microscopy. It improves the basic performance of the microscopy with respect to lateral resolution and image contrast and has been widely applied to biomedicine, medicine and quality measurementThere are six chapters in this thesis: chapter 1 is an introduction; chapter 2 describes the whole system; chapter 3 discusses relative algorithms and its implementation in detail; chapter 4 is about scientific visualization; chapter 5 is an overview of the software application; chapter 6 gives summary and prospect.First, in this thesis, we give a brief review of current development of digital microscopy system and draw a conclusion that domestic research can't keep up with the most advanced technique of the world, especially in the area of image analysis software. Though the whole system consists of three parts :optical module, data acquisition module and software module, we put our emphasis on the development of software module, which is the most important one. Then, in this thesis, we introduce our work on the design and implementation of software module. In this module, we have accomplished many functions not only in classical areas such as image filter; image enhancement; image segmentation; image arithmetic processing; 3D display of grayscale image; section line display; bitmap analysis; image label; but also some special ones including histogram equalization and histogram specification in grayscale and color space; image auto adjustment (AutoContrast AutoLevel AutoColor); image measurement; mathematic morphological operators in grayscale and color space ;thinning algorithm ;distance algorithm;sculpt algorithmjcell counting algorithm. Also we integrate image explore and database functions with the software module. With all of the funtions mention above, we can easily process, analyse and manipulate images.Based on image processing and analysis, in this paper we discuss implementation of three-dimension visualizaion of CT and PET data. Furthermore, with convenient interactive environment, we can reslice the rendering result in axial, sagittal and coronal coordinate.The whole software is characteristic of its powerful functions, stable performance and excellent capacity to price ratio.
