Medical image visualization consists of a series of theories,methods and techniques,applying computer graphic theory,image processing technique, computer vision theory and human-computer interacting technique to transform the medical image data to graphics and images, which can display on computer screen for interactive processing. This technique is one of the most important hotspots in the current medical image research, it is not only important in theory research, but also valuable and helpful for clinic diagnosing and so on.The purpose of the thesis is to use the technique of 3D reconstruction and visualization to process the medical image data in computers.we can vividly render and show the tree dimensional shape of organs.Then the principle and key technique for surface rendering are widely analyzed,and some accelerating algorithms are integrated to achieves high rendering speed. In the thesis,we not only discuss the dominating contents of medical image 3D reconstruction and visualization techniques,but also implement a medical image visualization system,which implemented by vc++6.0 and VTK.The main idea of the thesis include: image filtering,image enhancement and hierarchical interpolation, algorithms of surface rendering and simple processing of complicated mesh.
