Image enhancement is one essential technique of the digital image processing techniques. It is an important link in the image processing system; moreover, its result has direct relations with the high-level process and relations with understand of the image.This paper presents two new methods of image enhancement based on analyze and summarize model and techniques in existence: one is the method based on human vision. It combines human vision with the method based on local statistics; the local statistics method has been made improvement by this work. The other is the method based on genetic algorithm (GA). The GA is a stochastic global search method that mimics the metaphor of natural biological evolution. There use the model presented by J.S.LEE, find out the optimization parameters by GA, and enhance the image's quality at the same time. By this method, we can get the best image in the sense of SNR or other standard.The both two methods use the local information of image, and overcome the shortcomings that process all of pixels by the same scale.The two methods have some difference. The former is the combination of human vision characters and image's local statistics, and judge the quality of image subjectively. But the latter judge the quality of image both subjectively and objectively. Moreover, the latter compare result edge, this work is an innovation.Whether by subjective analysis or by objective judgment, the result shows the validity of the two methods.
