This paper focuses on the electromagnetic field computation and inverse electromagnetic field problem of switched reluctance motor. First, automatic mesh generation approach based on the fuzzy inference for FE analysis is put forward, by which expert experiences on mesh generation can be fully used and reasonable meshes can be generated rapidly. Second, a visual software for SRM electromagnetic field computation is developed by using object oriented programming, in which rotor movement problem is dealt with moving boundary method. The software has been used in engineering design. Thirdly, simulated annealing algorithm is thoroughly studied and improved. A novel global optimization method, intelligent simulated annealing algorithm, is proposed by assembling fuzzy inference into basic simulated annealing. Finally, the intelligent simulated annealing algorithm is applied to the inverse electromagnetic field problem of SRM, and pole shape of the rotor is optimized.
