In recent years, with the technical advancement of the wireless network and improvement of data transmission and processing and popularity of Android smart phones,wireless network surveillance systems have become more and more popular in various applications. In modern industrial production and applications, Linear Switched Reluctance Motors(LSRM) have the advantages of simple structure, low cost, mechanical stable and wide speed regulation, etc. It is expected to be utilized in mechanical manufacture,components assembly and other motion control systems. Android, an open source cell phone application software based on Linux, is mainly applied for mobile communication equipment.At present, most of the mobile surveillance systems are mainly applied to receive and play videos with Android smart phones, Few of the systems are applied to record and transmit these videos with them. In order to improve the practicability and security of the LSRM control system, it is meaningful and valuable to design and realize a LSRM mobile surveillance system based on Android, and it is a new attempt for Android mobile surveillance and motion control platform.This LSRM employs an Asymmetric Double-sided Linear Switched Reluctance Motor(ADLSRM) structure as the control subject and the ADLSRM motion control system is designed by using the dSPACE platform. The surveillance system samples the video signal by using Android mobile phones and monitors the control system online via the personal computer(PC) side. This system combines a motion control platform and a video surveillance platform, so that any fault from the control system can be avoided and addressed timely in the absence of fixed cameras and the nonexistence of a person.First, this paper analyzes the working principle, the basic structure and mathematical mode of the LSRM is built, then the ADLSRM position tracking control system is designed by using the dSPACE platform. Second, an application called CameraTest based on Android is developed. The camera of smart phones as a video acquisition interface is used to monitor the motor's status and parameters in real-time. Then, the obtained video data are coded by H.264, and using Wireless Fidelity(Wi-Fi) signals, these data are sent to the personalcomputers(PC) side with the protocol of Real-time Transport Protocol(RTP)/User Datagram Protocol(UDP). On the PC side, by using the Eclipse, the control system opens the monitoring interface, it can connect to the front of the Android phone camera. In case of emergency, we can start remote assistance to monitor the motor's status and parameters in real-time. Last, under the Proportion Integration Differentiation(PID) control algorithm and a sinusoidal signal and a square wave signal as given reference signals, then the parameters of the ADLSRM's tracking error are analyzed.The experimental results show that in a wireless network environment, the Android smart phone interface can transmit real-time position information of the ADLSRM to the PC side effectively. In addition, on the PC side, we can monitor and debug the operating state of the motor in real-time. Under the PID control algorithm, setting the amplitude and frequency of 15 mm and 0.5 Hz, respectively, when the reference signal is a sinusoidal wave, the transient error is between-1 mm and 0.6 mm. when the given signal is a square wave,steady-state error is between-16 ?m and 10 ?m. At last, the system achieves the desired effect of high precision and reliability.
