Remote Virtual Electronic Laboratory Technology Research

Distance Education is a new tool of computer-assistant, which is also a new education method. The appearance of Virtual Laboratory makes new-form Distance Education possible.This thesis studies how to design and build an interactive Web-based virtual laboratory environment. A remote electronic virtual laboratory system is established, by which students can carry out a series of experiments including analog, digital electronics circuits, signal processing and data analysis.This thesis presents a general method to create Internet-based remote virtual laboratory. This virtual laboratory system is composed of analogical experiment, digital experiment and Web technology. (1) For analogy electronics experimentations, LabVIEW application environment is adopted for implementation of local instrument control. Programmable instruments have been linked to the computer through GPIB. And it accomplishes a series of electronic experiments, and data analysis, signal process simulation experiments. (2) For digital part, in order to gain ground EDA and make users grasp the technology, we adds some new experiments using EDA. We design download cable and PCB, and complete digital system function, the core of which is EPM7128S of Altera. We can download program into CPLD and realize the joint of hardware and software. (3)To implement remote-controlling of instruments through Internet, a series of Web technologies were exploited., so that users can access the Web site via Internet browser, submit the commands and parameters to the Web server, control remote instruments and view the experiment results at the same time.The rudimental system of the laboratory has been created. By improving the corresponding methods and techniques, the system will be more suitable for realizing distance controlling via Internet.
