As the rising new telecom service provider, CNC(China Netcom) is growing up fleetly. CNC is building the high speed broadband network in China, which has covered the most regions and cities of China, mainly providing information communication and relay with high speed. It's total length has reached to 13000 Km and the network transmitting bandwidth is 40Gbps.When making great efforts in the construction of backbone network, CNC is zealously building the MAN(Metropolitan Area Network) in the main cities of CHINA at the same time. At present time, constructions of MAN in Beijing^ Shanghak Guangzhou and Shenzhen have been completed, those of other cities, including Dalian, are at the period of designing phase.As one of the primary members of the designing team, I am taking full responsibility for the design of Dalian MAN. During the period of preparation to this project, I have read a lot of domestic and overseas literatures about broadband network technology and MAN construction. After field survey to some other cities' MAN construction, we have summed up the material and accomplished the feasibility demonstrating report of Dalian MAN.In this paper, firstly, the local requirement of broadband service market in Dalian has been analized, and the feasibility and necessity of Dalian MAN's construction have also been dissertated detailedly according to the factual work of Dalian MAN's design. Secondly, refered to the down to date development of MAN's technology and the status of MAN's constitution in other cities, the correlative technology system, including core layer> edge layer and access layer technoly, which can be applied in Dalian MAN's construction has been brought forward. Moreover, according to the local market analysis, the feasible precept of Dalian MAN's constrution which can meet not only current reqiuement but also future telecom service requirement has been brought forward. Furthermore, the central idea that MAN should be built in commixing transmission mode and network structure should be layered has been established as a whole direction. In the end, the particular designing precept- includingnetwork structure, routing protocol, domain name system, IP address distribution, network security, network management, accounting, traffic engineering, network interlinking, service system implement and so on, has been analized and dissertated systemically, and the corresponding material implement precept has also been brought forward.
