Partitioned Error Control is proposed by Kenneth A. Debelak and Mark L. Rutherford in 1999. It is a new two-degrees-of-freedom control structure which is novel and has several desirable features. Under the perfect model assumption , the characteristic equations for the setpoint change and load disturbance are distinct and include the process model and the controller designed to handle each disturbance . This control structure allows for separate controllers to be designed to handle setpoint changes and load disturbances . Another desirable feature is that it allows for simple closed-loop determination of the process model.The main works of this paper deal with the aspect of the two-degrees-of-freedom control theory and model-based control theory because partitioned error control (PEC) is a model-based two-degrees-of-freedom controller . Then the two aspect is also depicted particularly besides partitioned error control (PEC) is analyzed and discussed . The main works are summed up us following :The basic concept and the the development of the theory of the Auto Control is stated with the focus on the modern control theory and classic control theory .There are some simply introductions for basic conceptions of two-degrees-of-freedom theory ,and discuss the characters and the designed means of the PID controller of two-degrees-of-freedom .Through the presentation and discussion for the Model Predictive Control and the Internal Model Control , we will know more for the model-based control system .PEC is a new two-degrees-of-freedom controller , it's effect of control is good without error between predictive model and actual process ; but the effect of PEC will be worse with the error increasing . The control quality of PEC is better than the formerly structure by mending the PEC structure when error arises .
