Ip Multicast Subsystem Research And Implementation Of Data Conferencing Desktop Video Conferencing Systems

Desktop Video Conference System is a kind of multimedia and internetworking communication supporting technology, which is used for holding conferences by the compute end users. In recent years, videoconference system has been advanced with the development of video digital technique, and it becomes a very effective tool for communications, and it is wildly used in economic, scientific researches and cultural exchanges. No doubt, as the development of video conference system and it's relative fields, also as the communication requirements in our modern society become essential, video conference as a new communication instrument, will have even wider application market.Central South University videoconference system not only support video/audio communication but also support people's co-operation. All the participarters can share instant messages and communicate with two or more persons in the same conference.In this thesis, I focus on the development of videoconference and it's influence to data communication. The necessities and the possibilities of building data conference, which is based on IP multicasting videoconference, have been explained. The theories of the technology used, especially Winsock is explained in details. The ideas and characteristics of developing the system also discussed.The data conference system developed in this thesis is based on IP communication protocols technique, using Microsoft VB to implement the sub-system modules. The data conference system includes three sub system modules: (1) chat program module; (2) share white board module and (3) file transfer module. Each of the modules provides the end users with different functions. Chat program module enables the users to exchange instant messages. Through the share white board module users can exchange the drawing and pictures. File transfer module enables the users to exchange the files.
