Ethernet Technology For High Reliability And Real-time Studies In The Industrial Field Bus

FieldBus is one of important technologies of automatization field, and it always plays a key role in all kinds of industrial field control. In the other side, ethernet technology has been developing rapidly. And its some characters overcome some limitations of original fieldbus. So there are lots of research on ethernet technology appling to fieldbus domain.This paper does some research in the High-avail and Real-time character of ethernet when it appling to fieldbus domain. In High-avail, made a concept of Redundancy Manager, and put forward some ethernet ring structures on the base of it. We can find these meet different levels of Avail requirement. In Real-time, it made great improvement on traditional ethernet. Adopted switch technology, high-speed ethernet, full-Duplex port switch, data prioritisation, and VLAN technology. Later, basing on the real situation of Industrial fieldbus, it does some simulations. From the result of these, we can find out real-time ethernet is doable.
