This paper discusses second-generation wavelets based on lifting scheme used in lossless image compression and the software implementation. This paper works out the details of construction of reversible integer wavelet transform using lifting scheme. Aiming at the limitation of classical boundary extension methods, interpolating subdivision method is brought forward to resolve boundary treatment problem by taking different subdivision depending on the position of image data(three conditions). Based on statistic property of all sub-bands coefficients, this paper gives a lossless image coding scheme including DPGM, Huffman coding and run length coding. This scheme reduces the calculating complexity and works highly efficiently. This scheme adapts to hardware implementation too. Using the scheme given by this paper relatively satisfying result is gained, comparing with JPEG and single adaptive Huffman compression.
