A System Of Images Fast Lossless Compression Based On DSPs

The major idea of this paper is to develop a system of images fast lossless compression, which realized on the special digital signal processing (DSP) chip of the high speed hardware. It discusses and uses a kind of reversible integer to integer wavelet transform-lifting scheme that can get integer output and need not quantize the data after transform. The paper emphasizes to discuss the realization of the wavelet transform on the DSPs. The hardware platform is the TMS320C6201 DSPs. Direct against the structure characteristic of this chip, write the realization procedure of the wavelet transform algorithm and make some meaningful optimizing. Then the procedure becomes brevity. It is fast to carry out the speed and can fully utilize resources of the memory within the chip. The system can realize the purpose of image fast lossless compression to solve some important questions of the important image, such as remote sensing of the satellite image, medical image, Historical relic photo and so on , which need to be transmitted and use on the internet by lossless compression. It has enormous application prospects.
