Network Tv Epg System

It has became a hot spot in the age of the networks that how people logon into the Internet with a little of knowledge about the PC and computer operating. The development of computer technologies makes household electric appliances intellectualized and latticing. Especially, with usage of the embedded system, there are more and more supports for the information household electric appliances. In this thesis the author gives the definitions, architectures and the trends of the information household electric appliances. We designed and implemented the Net TV EPG system, based on the study of the embedded system and user抯 requirements, including the collectivity, software structure, functions and network architecture. Then we emphasized the designing of the hardware of STB, EPG modules and the communication interfaces across them. Finally, we discussed some key technologies used in the system, including communication between the TV and STB with IIC Bus, Mini-DBMS based on the file system and application layer protocols.
