Prior to the availability of Web technology, four approaches have been used for device management, Console,Telnet,proprietary management application using a dedicated protocol and SNMP. Today, popular Web browsers are transforming device configuration, management and support into administrator-friendly applications. Not only administrators can benefit from widespread adoption of Internet and Intranet technologies, but also Device manufacturers can eliminate the traditional Telnet and complex SNMP based interfaces in favor of Web-based management tools. Now anyone can configure a network device using same simple Web-based form as he had gotten accustomed to. A key advantage of Web-based client/server applications is that all the development effort can take place on the server side, with inexpensive multilatform client applications being supplied by Web browser vendors. By reducing the number of proprietary applications on the desktop, companies can expect to reduce internal desktop maintenance expenses and software complexities. This paper expatiates the fundamental theoretics and various schemes of a small WWW Server run in network firewall based on an embed OS. It covers design model system software structure and detail design. At the end of paper, it discusses completed implementation and future improvement to system flaw.
