With the amazing development of the technology of large and super-large scale integrated circuits, Pc has been applied widely into various fields of the society production and subsistence in the modern time. It has been brought up a new reformation in automation technology by its application in advanced industry process control, intelligent instruments and so on. Lateral excitation CO2 laser heat treatment control system was one of the important equipment be used in material heat treatment in china. But with the shortcoming such as the poor reliability and disability of controlling laser output power, the old Single Board Computer (SBC) control system can fit to the requirement of heat treatment technology. So it is urgent to solve these problems through rebuilding the old control system with PC, and it is the central content of this article. The article discussed the blueprint and reality of the computerizing control of the numeric control machine tool and a plausible design idea of the laser output power control by using Super PC, MS 4201 on-off quantum interface board, MS 1229 simulation quantum input/output interface board and some function modules of the old system. The control software was designed with Turbo C 2.0, it works well and its interface is friendly.
