The subject of this thesis is providing an approach for the specification, design, and construction of sofware for distributed real-time systems. Real—time and distributed systems design has proven to be one of the most difficult and intricate engineering problems ever faced. This is primarily because of the complexity of the real world in which these systems operate. To facilitate the modeling of real-time systems, we introduce an effective modeling language and methodology, ROOM, which has focused on real-time domain. ROOM is the first methodology that brings together, in a single harmonious approtch, the power of object-oriented concepts tailored specifically for real-time systems, with an iterative and incremental process based on the use of executable models. To achieve the objective of constructing large, complex systems effectively, ROOM was organized around the following key elements: the operational approach, a phase-independent set of modeling abstractions, and the object paradigm, to eliminate the discontiniuties in the system development process. In the thesis, I describe ROOM methodology in several fields -- an overview of the ROOM modeling language, the implementation of ROOM models, and model development heuristics, and work over concrete implementation approach. In the last chapter of this thesis, I will model a actual real-time system's key part usingROOM.
