With the advent of the information age, information systems have been widely used. As the core of information systems, data has been paid increasingly attention. At the same time, it faces many threats:how to protect the data when facing the network attacker? How to ensure the availability of data when facing the network destroyer? How to recover the data when facing the natural disasters or great destructive human physical attacks? Especially for some secret departments and units, as they pursuit the high efficience and data availability of information systems, information security becomes the decisive factor in determining whether the information system can continue to survive.Based on the above problems, this paper proposes a new disaster recovery program based on Raptor code which called RStorage. By analysis and comparison of a variety of digital fountain codes, we choose the Raptor code to realize our disaster recovery system. The RStorage program shows its superiority in many aspects when compared with the traditional disaster recovery program based on simple copy and the mainstream storage technology RAID.Since there are a variety of open-source codes to implement the Raptor code, we choose the wirehair code basing on many comprehensive comparisons among these open-source codes before we start our exploitation work of the prototype system. Wirehair code is one of the simplified schemes of Raptor code on GF(256). We do lots of tests on wirehair code before implementing the Rstorage system to ensure its availability.Further more this paper makes a variety of discussions on data security issues:reducing the redundancy of backup data to enhance intrusion tolerance capacity of the system under the premise of same data recovery capability; combining Raptor code based disaster recovery systems and data encryption technology to improve the data security; using the user authentication technology to further increase the reliability of the system.
