The Ethernet communication is widely used in industrial areas, a major reform of control system has been caused by computer technology and network communication technology. In this subject, the weighing data management system based on the Ethernet and the weighing marking management system are designed for the enterprise. The remote Ethernet communication between the weighing instrument and the server are achieved. Using the weighing data management system, the transfer and management of weighing data in the production process are completed. Using the weighing marking management system, the weighing instrument reads data from the server by Ethernet communication. Printing and saving record with bar code labels are completed.This subject work is as follows.(1) The characteristic of Mettler-Toledo intelligent electronic scale is analyzed,. Weighing sensor series of SBC and weighing instrument series of IND880 are pay more attention. Their hardware configuration, basic functions, communication methods and weighing software system are studied.(2) Based on TCP/IP protocol and FTP protocol of the Ethernet communications, weighing data management system is designed. By setting the Winsock controls’ properties and calling controls’ methods in VB to write FTP server program, the remote Ethernet communication between intelligent weighing instruments in production site and host computer is achieved.Then the transfer of production weighing file is completed. The content of file is written to the real-time SQL Server database running in the enterprise.(3) Weighing marking management system is designed. By configuring ODBC data source of client and SQL Server Configuration Manager of server, using ADO components and DataGrid controls of VB, intelligent weighing instrument can read server’s data through Ethernet communication and form the specified format label, then control Zebra label printer to print barlabel mark.The printing records is saved in the ACCESS database of weighing instruments.After installation and debugging, these systems have been successfully applied to the production management. The weighing data networked management is achieved, and the function of enterprise’s information layer network is consummated. The enterprise’s management level is improved effectively.
