The all society have influenced by the media in recent years, including the development of tourism industry. It is an indispensible and important part in tourism development. Including the communication of tourism information makes a mimetic tourism environment for tourists, affects their consumption decision, shaping the image of tourism destination and supervising the management of tourism enterprise. Therefore, the media is an important means when it have an effect on developing tourism that research the process and performance of the tourism development influence by media and make the most of offering the service for the tourism development. The paper dissects all kinds of media’s advantages and combines related theories to analyze the effects between media and tourism subject, object and also tourism media. Using the GMS as a ample, the author aims at the recent situation and existed problems of the influence to advise suggestion and measures which utilize the media to improve the local tourism development.The paper includes six chapters and analyses the whole effect of the development of tourism. According to it and problem of recent tourism development, the author makes a specific discussion on how to promote the tourism industry of the GMS by media effectively. The first part is preface and introduce the background, the significance the research situation at home and abroad and research method. The second part introduces the related media theories, sociological theories and economic theories and also make a basis for the next. The third part mainly researches the major types and characters of the media. The fourth part explain the specific performance that media affected tourism subject, object and tourism media. By introducing the theory of pseudo-environment of Lipmann, discusses the media influenced the establishment of pseudo-environment and other aspects of tourists. The impact on tourism object mainly focuses on the image of tourism destination and by affecting the tourism enterprise to perform the impact on tourism media. The fifth part uses the GMS as a ample, studying the media of the GMS countries and local media. Taking on the basis, the author advices the specific measures to promote the development of the GMS’s tourism industry. Last part, reiterating the argument and put forward the research limitations of the paper.
