With the development of technology, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) technology turns to be mature and is widely used in diverse civil and military fields. SAR plays more and more important role in the war, considering the national information security, it is very important to study the jamming methods of SAR. Important military targets and operations can be protected by using advanced SAR ECM equipment in future war.From the view of engineering, this dissertation investigated how to construct a SAR jamming system, and analyzed the corresponding crucial problems in this procedure.According to SAR imaging theories and different application on airborne and spaceborne platforms, this dissertation analyzed the characteristics and weaknesses of SAR, discussed the feasibility of the SAR jamming system from view point of technique and engineering. Taking example of spaceborne SAR, this dissertation discussed the crucial problems in SAR jamming system designing in detail. Some viewpoints such as reconnaissance sensitivity, target tracking, jamming power, and jamming area cover, were proposed in this dissertation. All these may be important references to SAR jamming system designing.Multiple jamming methods to SAR have also been analyzed in this dissertation. Based on this work, multiple jamming modes were discussed, and the corresponding problems that must be considered in engineering were defined.The algorithms of coherent jamming and the deceptive jamming to SAR and the corresponding implementing methods in a practical system were addressed detailedly in this dissertation. Some simulation experiments have been accomplished through which the effects of different jamming mode were validated. The factors which are crucial to jamming efficiency are analyzed quantitatively. Simulation results indicated that the compound jamming of coherent and noise is ease to implement and can achieve more better effect than other jamming methods:Noise jamming is suitable for large area oppressing because of its uniform energy distribution, and coherent jamming is more fit for point targets oppressing.Based on the theory analysis and simulation experiments, an experimental SAR jamming system has been constructed. Using the methods addressed in this dissertation, an jamming processor has been designed and built. Some jamming experiments have been accomplished using this system and an X-band SAR. According to the experimental results, the jamming effect was analyzed and evaluated.The research in this dissertation demonstrated that implement of oppressive jamming and deceptive jamming to SAR is feasible based on the current technologies and engineering conditions. But it should be noticed that there are many problems to be research and perfect, for the purpose to abtain more efficient jamming modes and more appropriate jamming effect evaluation methods to SAR, it is necessary to study and explore by combining the theory analysis and the experience of practical projects.
