Rich Web graphic user interface implemented with HTML, CSS, XML and Java Script on embedded device provides clear and attractive interface elements and also make the product valuable at the same time.Developers who only know Java programming language can use Google Web Toolkit(GWT) to develop Ajax Web applications which is finally presented with Java Script language. A richer and flexible graphic user interface can be achieved by using and extend the GWT graphic user interface components.Research on GWT frame work and Ajax related web developing technology has been explored. Thus design and implement the Multi-module adaptable embedded platform system based on GWT graphic user interface application running on Linux OS.Research work starts from the requirements analysis for the embedded handheld device system platform project. It targets to use open source embedded Linux as operating system both for platform device and modules. Running Linux OS with the pluggable module provides the network test application for the user. Communication interface program between the platform system and the modules handles test command requests and test results. The GWT Web application is employed in the module, and it would be launched after the module is mounted into the platform system. The paper analyses the methods to design the system and how to deploy Web applications. Finally the paper explains in details the development framework to achieve a graphical interface configuration system based on GWT for the embedded handheld device.
