Traditional woodblock printing reached its zenith in Ch’ing Dynasty. At beginning, woodblock printing only came into being in few areas. In Ch’ing Dynasty, there were more and more areas, traditional woodblock printing has matured, also, woodblock printed books have become the main vehicle for the dissemination of culture. Thanks to the maturity of woodblock printed books, more and more works can reserved and spread. By these works, we can make sense of the ancient society. Shaanxi’s political status had declined form Tang Dynasty. Although the printing industry in Shaanxi had been reserved form Tang Dynasty, the quatity of books very small, can not meet the needs. Until the late Ch’ing Dynasty, Shaanxi still need to buy from other areas. In the late Ch’ing Dynasty, the rise of an engraved Shaanxi book fashion, engraving a lot of books. The participation of more local literati, at the moment the book reflects their academic attitude. In this paper, inscribed books by the late Ch’ing Shaanxi case studies, combined with the social context and characteristics of the times, to examine the academic development rheological Canton area during this period.After late Ming peasant uprising destroy, From Kangxi to Qianglong,society experienced a short recovery phase, the late Ch’ing Dynasty in Shaanxi had another war and famine in frequent wars, especially Hui uprising of the Canton area of destruction, then, local government take measures for recovery and development of, after the Taiping war, the rise atmosphere of the country to set up the official bookstore, printe books, printed books have also been supported by the court, in this context, in the late Ch’ing Dynasty, the rapid development of printing industry in Shaanxi.The traditional woodblock printing in Shaanxi in late Ch’ing is divided into two types:books printed in Wei-ching Press, it represents official print; books printed by private. Among these people, Ho Jui-lin is the important one. Wei-ching Press mainly printed practical books and Western books, however, private usually printed books about neo-confucianism or local literary. Among these printing institutions, a part of books were printed by government. Also, a lot of books were printed by shu-yuan.
