In recent years, scale of colleges has been continuously expanded. With the increased investments of schools and continuous introduction of self-raised capitals of schools, the environment in aspects such as teaching, scientific research and management of schools has been improved greatly, school running level has been further improved and the development of colleges has been promoted greatly. As for rapid increase in demands for instruments equipment for teaching, scientific research and administration in colleges at present and further strengthening in purchase management by schools, the management manner in which purchase of instruments in colleges is mainly carried out manually can hardly be adapted to the development demands of new trends. Digital management of purchase information of scattered equipment of colleges is extremely urgent. Therefore, in order to realize efficient management of college purchase, cost saving and school affairs publicity, to shorten space-time distances of all parties involved in purchase and to continuously improve quality of purchase supervision and operation and so forth, the system is analyzed and designed. An object-oriented development method, a UML modeling technology, a Visual Paradigm modeling tool and relevant database technologies are used to describe the development of this system. In the paper, detailed demand analysis is carried out for the system, which includes business demand analysis, functional demand analysis, data demand analysis and non-functional demand analysis. In business demand analysis, activity diagrams are given out for business processes of the system; in functional demand analysis, the use case diagrams of the system are given out and the use cases are described in detail; in data demand analysis, concept class diagrams of the system and breviary expression of class diagrams are given; and non-functional demands are analyzed mainly from environmental demands, performance demands and safety demands. In design of the system, overall design and functional module design are implemented for the system. Those functional modules mainly include an equipment bidding management module, a purchase application order issuance management module, a supplier bidding management module, an equipment bidding primary-election management module and a system management module. In the design of functional modules of the system, functional structure package diagrams, class diagrams, sequence diagrams and activity diagrams for process processing are given. Contents to be designed in the paper are described in detail. In the design of databases, mainly entity class diagrams, E-R diagrams and a database list structure are used for detailed design.Main work in the paper is as follows:(1) Backgrounds and meanings of the topic, as well as current development situations of information of equipment fault management are analyzed.(2) Relevant technologies and theories involved in development of the system are introduced.(3) Based on deep investigation and research of on-line purchase business, demands are analyzed, overall objectives of the system are proposed, functional demands of the system are analyzed in details by an UML method, and non-functional demands are described simply.(4) In accordance with theories and methods of software engineering, the analysis for an information system of scattered equipment purchase of Zhongshan Polytechnic as well as the designed system structure, functional structure, databases and other aspects are analyzed and designed in detail. Relevant use case diagrams, activities and so forth are given.
