Tactical light has become one of the essential equipment in man combat troops because of the outstanding application performance in some special environment, of which design and development are focused on in many countries. In the detection of tactical light, the traditional method of is to detect and record data by using photodetector. This method is not only very complicated but also has a high deviation. This paper designs a high efficiency and high precision real-time detection system of tactical light, which bases on the function and the visual inspection technology. The system uses a CCD camera to capture illumination of the target surface and to achieve illumination of tactical light spot, energy distribution, beam divergence angle and other informations by using the image processing technology, which provides the accordance for evaluation of tactical light.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part introduces the background and significance of this topic, the main tactical light indicators are proposed. The second part introduces the tactical light refraction-total internal reflection (TIR) optical system, analyzes its function expression between surface and lighting distribution, at the same time using Tracepro software for tactical light illumination simulation system. The third part introduces the scheme design of detection system, introduces the design of the system in detail by analysing the indicators of tactical light. The fourth part introduces the test system software including image acquisition, image processing and measuring function. The advantages and disadvantages of existing algorithms of image smooth and segmentation are compared in this paper. Median filter and Ostu algorithm are selected by comparing effect maps. Choosing Canny algorithm to improve the positioning accuracy of the spot in edge detection.The fifth part introduces the function of illuminance values and gray, and uses the detection system testing the product.The experiments show that the system can measure the lighting indicators of tactical light and the measurement error is less than 5%, which meets the design requirement.
