Application Of Multicast In Resolving Cloud Computing Bandwidth Crisis

In recent years, cloud computation has been a hot topic in computer science industry, more and more people begin to accept that cloud computation will be the new base of computer science architecture. Now Beijing, Tianjin, Dongguan in Guangdong and so on begin to set up their cloud computation bases. China needs to develop cloud computation industry to grasp the new chance to follow or even lead the new tendency of IT industry. However, there are many problems to solve in cloud computation, such as bandwidth crisis, power saving problem and security problem.The concept and significance of cloud computation are analyzed. Several main problems of cloud computation are illustrated, and then the corresponding existing solutions and basic tendency of solutions are presented. Based on the analysis of cloud computation problems, the crisis of bandwidth is analyzed in details. Multicast is a good solution to solve bandwidth problem, which suffered from the problem of scalability in cloud computation data center. A scalable multicast is presented by allocating addresses properly, which can thus save the multicast bandwidth.
