With the integration of internet and the rise of the social media,"SocialTV" is getting more and more popular. Many viewers choose to use PC,tablet computers and mobile phones while watching TV programs.The author of this paper uses American Social TV as it’s foundationsince it is the origin of this new industry. There are two main models,with the first one being the multiscreen experience companion APPs andthe second being Social TV guides. Combining several recent cases thatwere successfully using social media, we can gather information and lookthrough the social TV industry in depth. In the third Chapter the authorwill discuss and compare the ratings for Social TV as well as traditionalTV ratings provided by Nelson. In the final chapter, the author will give aprediction of Social TV of the future as well as an analysis how thisaffects the Chinese Social TV industry.
