Design And Implementation Of College Video Monitoring System Based On IP Network

As the development of the college education and the expansion of the collegecampus, more and more security problems have come into being. The buildingexpansion and the merging of universities forced the college building forward formore corresponding facilities. The original security facilities cannot meet the demandof college development because of the lack of security staff, defective administrationand rapid flow of personnel.The promotion and application of the video surveillance system has offered arelatively satisfied solution to the problems arisen. And it has been spreading all overthe country because of its integration of security, the burglar alarm, the examinationmonitoring and well-management.This thesis first listed the history and development of the video surveillancesystem technology and then analyzed the recent condition of the surveillance systemwith its third surveillance—IPVS. It also discussed the different categories of storageservers and iSCSI as well. The thesis also focused on the real implement of videosurveillance system project in University of South China as the writer has participatedthe whole project from the very beginning. It analyzed the planning and design of theproject and also the merits and demerits as well, according to the basic characteristicof the campus. By analyzing all the data collected from the project, the author putforward a feasible program to improve the video surveillance system in USC.The first phase of project in USC has been finished. As the second phase is to beon stage, the author will continue his effort in it and try his best to collect as manydata as possible to get further research.
