In recent years, as the use of microwave has been into a lot of fields, and its unique heating properties has got extensive application in industry, while microwave sintering technology is a typical application of microwave heating.The microwave sintering technology makes use of the coupling between microwave and the materials to generate heat. The integral heating of the materials is achieved by their own dielectric loss, it will not achieve densification of the sintered materials until it meets the sintering temperature. This is a very important means of microwave sintering of ceramic in industry, microwave powder metallurgy and soThe microwave sintering cavity is the core part of Microwave sintering equipment, and single-mode sintering cavity and multi-mode sintering cavity are the most usually used. For the reasons that the electromagnetic field intensity is relatively concentrated, easy to control and adjust, etc, single-mode sintering cavity has been widely used. Thereinto, the most typical type is the cavity with TE103pattern inside, which has a more stable and higher field distribution of intensity of the field. While there are so many resonant modes in multi-mode sintering cavity that the heating uniformity in it is weaker than that in single-mode cavity, however, it has the advantage of sintering a large load.In order to implement the microwave sintering more effectively, we need to get uniform distribution area in the sintering, cavity as large as possible, so we must choose an appropriate cavity size, and the cavity field distribution in the cavity will be a key point we need to study.Previous analytical methods can only handle a simple sintering cavity model, for a complex cavity or loaded cavity model of samples, only with the help of the electromagnetic simulation software which is in the method of numerical calculation.The purpose of this thesis is using3D electromagnetic simulation software HFSS of Ansoft company to simulate the electromagnetic field distribution of the microwave sintering cavity, in this way, we can determine more effective and optimize the area of the electromagnetic field distribution in the cavity. HFSS uses FEM(finite element method) to regional discretization cavity by dividing the cavity into grids, then combine the results and display them through some intuitive graphs. Making use of these results, we make multilateral discussions and in-depth researches, then determine a appropriate length of the cavity, find out several parameter affecting the electromagnetic field distribution of the cavity, compare the electromagnetic field distribution of single-mode cavity and multi-mode cavity to find the most advantageous position of sintering, and make some optimization in view of the shortcomings, so as to improve the working efficiency of microwave sintering furnace, these provides a strong theoretical basis to promote the development of production equipment, and the research has important and practical value.
