With the rapid development of wireless communication, telecommunication operatorsnot only concern about the scale of wireless network, but also do they pay more attentionto enhancing the quality of network transmission and optimizing the performance oftelecommunication equipment. As an important node in the transmission network and theaccess network, the combiner is used for RF signal transceivation, combinationandseparation.The role of the combiner is to select the required signals to be transmitted whilefiltering out other signals. Meanwhile, this mechanism can make the required signals keepaway the interference from the others. Multi-band combiner is due to transmitte multiplexsignals simultaneously. Besides, it can ensure the quality of the transmission of each signaland control the extent of the mutual influence between any two signals. The DR (DielectricResonator) of dielectric cavity multi-bandcombiner is made by onenew type of dielectricmaterial. Comparing to the traditional metel cavity devices, it has number of advantages asfollows:(1) higher selectivityfor required frequency, better filtering performance;(2) betterquality factor and smaller size;(3) lower insertion loss;(4) better temperature stability ofthe resonant frequency;(5) suitable for the development of narrow-band combiner. Besides,dielectric cavity multi-band combiner allows signals at different frequency to betransmitted via one antenna. This can save the cost of antenna and related costs.In this paper, it porposed a new design in which the combiner partly consists of TE01δmodedielectric resonators as well as traditional metal silver plated resonators and focusedon the design method of combiner by using TE01δmodedielectric resonators. Chapter1introduced the development status of combiner with TE01δmode dielectric resonators aswell as the significance and importance of this subject.Chapter2first expounded the impactof the dielectric material on the performance ofresonator. Then it discussed the workingprinciple of the dielectric resonator based on the theory mentioned in the context. Byanalyzing the key parameters such as quality factor, dielectric constant, temperature drift coefficient, it proposed a the principle of coupling between the plurality of resonantcavities and a novel resonator structure. Chpter3analyzed the mode ofdielectric resonator,then, it built a mode of single chamber of the filter. Based on the theory of waveguidetransmission during in the metal cavity, it analyzed the principle of direct coupling andcross-coupling between the single cavities and made a design of coupling of this combineras well as cavity arrangement. Based on the theory of waveguide transmissionin the filterequivalent circuit of the combiner, chapter4determined thekey parametersand built themode of the combiner by using HFSS and Pro/Engineer. Chapter5gave the analysis ofdevice fabrication, commissioning and optimization process. Then, it discussed theimprove route of debugging and optimization of the combiner. Lastly, it summarized theexperimental results and came to the conclusion that the actual test results verify thefeasibility of the theoryand the correctness of the design in chapter6.
