Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) plays an important role in various fields such as National Defense, Traffic, Medical, Communication, Finance and Industry. With the development of digital and intelligent control technology, compared with traditional UPS, Intelligent UPS not only has the advantages of high quality, reliability and multifunction, but also meets the requirements of energy-saving and environmental protection. Therefore, it is a new type of UPS which is adapted to development in the future.Intelligent control technology for Modular "N+X' Parallel Redundant UPS is investigated in this thesis, including control technique for UPS modules in parallel operation, monitor module for individual unit and Static Transfer Switch module.The Modular Parallel Redundant UPS controlled by DSP adopts Non-master-slave Current-sharing Scheme. The current-sharing loop realized by analog circuit is based on average-current-sharing scheme; Digital synchronous bus guarantees synchronizing phase-lock of the unit output voltage; CAN bus is used to communicate among individual units. The monitor module for individual unit uses microcontroller and organizes a complete and all-round UPS intelligent management system as a necessary addition to the management for individual unit. While the Static Transfer Switch module is in operation, the monitor system based on DSP centralizes the control of the fast transfer-switching, protection and other control functions. And in the end, the results got from the experiment verify the validity of the scheme.
