The plasma antenna is a new type antenna and different from the traditional one because of its low radar cross section in structure. The research on plasma antenna is one of the hottest one because of the highly application value in the military field. This article studies the stealth and radiation characteristics of plasma antenna by making use of numerical simulation methods and the research work mainly includes:In order to understand the situation of different parameters on the electromagnetic wave propagation in the plasma, a study was made that the plasma of reflection and attenuation was known by way of plane electromagnetic wave incidence to a metal substrate. The effect which lay a theoretical foundation for studying the stealth and radiation characteristics of plasma antenna.The 2D model has been build and the RCS of plasma antenn have been calculated by making use of FDTD methods in the thesis. At the same time, effects of plasma parameters the stealth characteristic of plasma antenna are obtained according to the calculation results.The half wave oscillator plasma antenna model has been build.The half wave oscillator plasma and the half wave oscillator metal that have the same physical parameter has been simulated by use of the software XFDTD. According to the simulation results, the half wave oscillator antenna model E-plane direction graph to be compared. Using the established model to study the effect of plasma density the radiation characteristic of plasma antenna.At last, some conclusions are summarized based this article, and the directions of future research are also point out.
