The binocular stereo vision is the main way which is used by human eyes to obtain the three-dimensional information of the surrounding environment.Its principle of measurement is similar to image-forming principle of human view. The binocular stereo vision system is composed of two (or more than one) cameras which maintain a relatively contant position. It can get the images of object to be tested.Based on image feature extraction and matching. The geometric model of measured object is set up.According to the principle of binocular parallax, the image coordinates can be converted into space coordinates.Binocular stereo vision based on reverse engineering is the use of binocular stereo vision measurement system to collect the product model.The data of product and design (including the design drawings or digital model) is obtain by some related soft.It is completely different from the traditional design process.The traditional design is this process that an unknown design concept shift into a product of human need depends on the creative labor of engineers.On the contrary,the reverse engineering based on the binocular stereo vision is the process that begin with given information can be absorbed,after digital image acquisition, data processing and three-dimensional reconstruction, and then the 3D model of prototype is created.Finally it duplicates the prototype or redesign the model on the original model basis.In this paper,the binocular stereo vision system is the intersection and dual-CCD bench.Do the test to compare calibration method of radial constraint with the calibration method of flattarget.In the end,because of the advantage of flattarget calibration,it is selected to do the next step.In the Image pre-processing process,using the Harris corner detection and improved steger image edge detection method to do it.In the procedure of stereo matching,Mr Li's matching algorithm method that couple the edge-based guide the corner matching algorithm with the algorithm based on Robust Fundamental Matrix,because this method not only be able to get more matches from the amount of information can also remove part of a false match.Using the Matlab to calculate the 3D coordinates of each pixel in the actual space,then import the three-dimensional configuration software for editing to get the 3D model and continue to design.In order to obtain the useful machining data.The binocular stereo vision in reverse engineering has the characteristics of ground-breaking, comprehensive, practical and so on.It can be able to provide critical technical support to do rapid product design and rapid prototyping.lt will play an extremely important role in the development of China's manufacturing industry.
