Examination Of Vocational And Technical College System Design And Implementation

Examination is an essential part of education. Generally speakingly, the examination organization goes through the following steps: compiling papers, printing papers, having students tested , collecting papers, going over papers , registering scores, analyzing and summarizing testingresults, which are rather complex and error-prone. Therefore, it is necessary to reform the traditional method of examination.On the basis of the practical circumstances of Zhengzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College and the previous experience of tests management and platform, we develope an examination system using Browser / Server model to simplify the process of examination and improve the traditional method of examination.The examination system is developed in Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system platform, making use of JSP to exploit foreground application and choosing SQL Server 2000 as background database.The functions of client application are to show information, log on, take exams and collect data. The background database is used to store and manage data. The examination system we developed has several important functions: managing teachers'information, managing students'information managing'item bank, managing testing, managing testing results and managing statistics and so on. Through the application of workflow in the design of the examination system,the business capability has been significantly optimized and the system efficiency has been improved. In system safety aspects, network firewall and anti-virus software protect the system's safety. The password was encrypted for the security of the system in the user authentication.Currently , the examination system , which runs relatively stable and reliable, has been applied to the final tests of last term in Zhengzhou Railway Vocational & Technical College. We deserve the ideal results and achieve the designed requirements and goals.
