Marriage and family research is a traditional popular topic in sociological study. As an important social organization, the family is one of organizational forms in human social life, while the marriage is the starting and foundation for the family, as well as a product of human society. The ceremonies, customs, taboos, systems, rules and regulations which are related to marriage are directly affect a family, tribe, ethnic groups and even the country's culture. Every society and every culture has a corresponding social institutions and standard which regulate their marriage and the family behavior. Tibetan nomadic culture, the marriage form is a much-attention aspect. Tibetan ancient ancestors had formed a set of marriage rules to form a family, and the tribes. These rituals continually improve and have a distinct ethnic and local characteristic in the historical process of this marriage customs.A Gansu-Qinghai-Tibetan pastoral area is a typical representative of the Tibetan pastoral areas, liking the other pastoral areas of China Gansu-Qinghai-pastoral herders is generally faced with the trend of settlement. With the progress of herders to settle in acceleration, the inherent social structure and forms of culture are bound to change, and the changes will be reflected in the full range of Tibetan marriage and family. The author speculates that as the change of the economic production mode, people's marriage and family in pastoral areas may be different from Tibetan nomadic period, including the pattern and concept of traditional marriage, and the previous form of marriage is dying out.This article's aim is to confirm whether the current Tibetan culture of marriage and family in pastoral areas is different from that in the past, basing on the investigation of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Gansu and Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai province of Tibetan herdsmen living place. On the basis of related research of the predecessors, this study used a survey method of combining depth interviews to discuss the status quo and change of Gansu-Qinghai-Tibetan pastoral marriage and family culture under the combined action of the transformation in the economic mode of production, policy impetus, cultural changes, lifestyle changes and other factors. Finally, the author introduced the "Field" and "habitus" concept for the Tibetan marriage and family discussion, and made a conclusion that the form of marriage and family of the Tibetan herders had changed.The full-text is divided into six chapters; chapters'main content is as follows:Chapter I is Introduction, introducing the purposes and meanings of choosing this research topic, and reviewing the relevant theory and literature. The second chapter is the introduction of investigation facts and research methods. with emphasis of the geography, history, culture, and language the author underlined the Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture are in Gansu-Qinghai-nomadic cultural circle, and introduced the basic profiles of the investigation, and a detailed account of the this research method and sample conditions. Chapter III is discussing the culture of traditional marriage and family of Gansu-Qinghai-Tibetan pastoral areas, including being in love, start a family and the traditional concept of reproductive behavior. Chapter IV is describing the current culture of marriage and family. The author considered that the current culture of marriage and family of Gansu-Qinghai-Tibetan pastoral areas that have changed through the Gansu-Qinghai-pastoral herders on the current age of marriage, marriage ceremony, family size, women's family status, reproductive wishes, etc., in contradistinction to the previous chapter of traditional cultural practices. Chapter V is a part for the analysis and discussion. I analyses the reasons for changes in marriage and family in the Gansu-Qinghai-Tibetan pastoral areas, at the same time using Bourdieu's concept'Field'and'Habit'to discuss the change phenomenon of Tibetan marriage and family, and expounded the author's view of cultural change.
