Many studies at home and abroad show that exercises could improve people's mental health. But there are rarely researches studying the relationship between exercises and mental health of people with disabilities. Our country is during the important stage of building a socialist harmonious society. The mental health of people with disabilities is an important problem which should be paid more attentions to. The data of China's second national sample survey of persons with disabilities shows that the number of persons with physical disabilities in our population is 24,120,000, which is the top of the persons with disabilities. So the mental health of people with physical disabilities is the most important problem. This research will examine the status of mental health of adolescent with physical disabilities, explore the effects of the attitude of physical exercise, exercise levels on mental health, and explain exercises' effects on mental health of the adolescent with physical disabilities further by comparing the exercise and mental health differences between disabled students and normal students.This study selected 210 physically disabled students and normal students from one Technology School of Shaanxi Province as subjects, using questionnaire surveys and tests on computer studied the mental health level of adolescent with physical disabilities and the relationship between exercises and mental health. This study contains three parts.The first part is the survey on the mental health status of young people with physical disabilities, which found that the detection rate of mental health problems in physically disabled students was 31.6%. The order of the detection rate of mental health problems is:1, self-blame tendency,2, learning anxiety; terrorist tendencies,3, interpersonal anxiety; impulsive tendency,4, physical symptoms,5, allergic tendency,6, lonely tendency. The general level of mental health and the levels of learning anxiety, self-blame tendency, terrorist tendency, and impulsive tendency are significantly different between boys and girls. Girls'scores are significantly higher than boys'.The second part studied the level of physical activity, exercise attitudes and mental health of the young people with physical disabilities. This part found that the mental health level of disabled adolescent whose amounts of exercise are different have significant difference. The scores of physical symptoms, impulsive tendency of people with small amount of exercise are significantly higher than the people with large amount of exercise. Exercise attitude influence the level of the disabled youth physical activity, and exercise levels affect mental health. The third part compared the exercise and mental health between young people with physical disabilities and normal students from the same school. The study found that the exercise level of physically disabled students is significantly lower than the normal students'. There is no significant difference on exercise attitude between them. The detection rate of mental health problems in physically disabled students is higher than the normal students'. The learning anxiety is more obvious in disabled students. Physical conditions have no impact on the gender difference in mental health score. Physically disabled students are worse than normal students in the cognitive dimensions selected in this study. The cognitive development level of physically disabled students is lower.Through the above-mentioned study concluded thatFirst, the general status mental health of physical disabled students is not optimistic. The mental health level of the disabled students is lower than the normal students'.Second, exercise affects mental health of physical disabled students.Third, the cognitive development level of physically disabled students is lower than the normal students'.
