In this paper, I took high school teachers in Xuhui district as objects of study. During the research, I interviewed 6 teachers and surveyed 216 from 20 high schools through questionnaires about teachers' vocational happiness made by myself. The results are as follows:Firstly, vocational happiness of high school teachers takes on an ordinary level. Compared with those who feel quite unhappy and very unhappy, the number of teachers who feel quite happy and very happy is larger. However, most teachers don' t consider teaching as an enjoyful job and they can't enjoy any fun and excitement during the work. 86.5 percent of the teachers feel that they are under very great or quite great pressure. 76.7 percent of them feel very tired or quite tired. Obviously, teachers' working life is hardly optimistic.Secondly, there is little relevance to teachers' vocational happiness according to their education qualification, job title, school type and their working experience while there is distinct difference as far as teachers' sex, age, subject, grade, school position and income are concerned. Furthermore, female teachers' vocational happiness situation is better than male teachers'. Those whose ages range from 26 to 30 feel the most relative happiness and the teachers under 25 years old are in the second place. On the other hand, there is a largest quantity among the teachers between 31-40 years old who feel very unhappy or quite unhappy. Those whose ages range from 41 to 50 are in the second place. The vocational happiness of the teachers who teach major subjects is wholly more than that of the teachers who teach minor subjects. However, among the top three major subjects, the vocational happiness of Chinese teachers is worst, even worse than the teachers who teach minor subjects. Middle-level cadres' vocational happiness level is distinctly lower than other teachers'. Heads of the teachers of the grade and ordinary teachers' vocational happiness level is relatively high. The teachers whose income ranges from 50 to 60 thousand Yuan taste the most happiness while those whose income ranges from 60-70 thousand Yuan taste the least happiness. The teachers who teach Grade 6 feel happiest while those who teach junior and senior grade three feel unhappiest.Thirdly, among all the reasons leading to teachers' vocational happiness, students' high marks, students' affection and gratitude, teachers' academic progress play a dominant part. Meanwhile, other three factors constitute the main reasons why teachers feel unhappy. They complain that the amount of their work is too large, formalistic work which separates from practice is too much and the ranking of students' mark makes them under very great pressure.At the end of the paper, suggestions about how to raise teachers' vocational happiness are offered respectively in subjective and objective side.
