William C.Bagley (1874 - 1946) was a famous American educator of modern, essentialism of founder and principal representatives. Broad knowledge base and rich experience make him the issue of education has developed a unique insight, especially in teacher education, formed his own theoretical system. Bagley of Teachers Education thoughts not only for the development of Teacher Education of the United States made an outstanding contribution, but also the present stage of teacher education reform and development also has the significance of reference and inspiration for China. This thesis studied on the ideology of its teacher education was more comprehensive, in-depth study, based the previous research on the Bagley Education .Introduction, introduces research status of the domestic and international thinking on the Bagley ,presents the purpose of this research and describes the research approach.The first part, introduces the formation about the ideas of teacher education on Bagley. Bagley background of his time and his own experience of the educational practice of teacher education are thought to his formation to a certain extent, especially in the Columbia University's Teacher Education office contributed to his mature thought, eventually forming a sets its own theoretical system.The second part , investigates the theoretical basis of the teacher education theories of Bagley. Essentialism education philosophy on teacher education theorie of Bagley had a profound impact. Bagley's teacher education ideology is not accidental, but the basic of based on the ideas generated. Bagley reflects the essentialism educational philosophy ,on concept of culture, education outlook and teaching outlook on several aspects.The third part, the part of the main part of this thesis, focuses on main content of the teacher education theories of Bagley. This section includes four issues: first, introduced Bagley's outlook on the status of teachers and role. Bagley on the importance of the teaching profession has given full recognition, and he thinks that in the education process, teachers should be at the center, the initiative is not in the educational process students in the teacher;second, in full recognition of teachers in education important role, Bagley on the teachers themselves should have also put forward a high quality requirements. Both future teachers to study not only rich in general knowledge and education expertise, but also teachers should have basic skills, and mastery of classroom skills; third, Bagley believed that teachers in schools is the most important factor. But the traditional teacher education programs trained teachers can not meet the needs of social development, the traditional disadvantages of teacher education programs, the United States and qualified teachers, in teacher preparation and use should be made on Bagley that at least ten reforms; fourth, focus on the main Thoughts of Bagley's teacher education. Bagley's ideal future teachers are teachers-scholar talent, And under the concept of the ideal teacher education program discussed Bagley's training courses and internship settings.The fourth part, mainly discusses Bagley's teacher education thought on the teacher education development of the United States, while I thought on Bagley's teacher education theory had a more objective evaluation, and Bagley's teacher education theory for the Chinese Teacher Education reform and development of the Enlightenment made a specific analysis.
