With the globalization of world economy, the socialization of study and the networkization of information, the reform to improve the specialization in teachers has been widely realized by national educators. Rural teachers account for a large proportion of teachers in primary and secondary schools. Therefore, nowadays how to improve the quality of rural teachers has become the heated subject. Since the reform and opening, our country has developed rapidly. Urbanization has grown to become an inevitable tendency and it is also one of the important goals of our economic and social development. In developed southern areas along the Yangtze river, the pace of urbanization is faster, which has an influence on the development of education and in turn education, to some degree, affects the pace directly or indirectly. Thus, the process of urbanization needs more teachers with modern speciality to improve the general academic level of all mral people and train more capable people serving the rapidly developing economy. However, there exist some cases where rural education can't match the process of urbanization, such as the worrying present situation of teachers' specialization, the lack of motivation, the poor awareness of self-development, traditional notions, the deficiency in applying advanced educational technology, the weakness of doing research and the lack of creative spirits and practical skills.Firstly, this dissertation, beginning with urbanization and teachers* specialization and learning from the construction of some patterns, tries to provide a theoretic framework. Then, after a survey of the teachers' specialized present situation in the southern areas along the Yangtze river, which takes Tangshi Central Primary School as an example, it raises some probles and reasons for affecting teachers'specialization. Meanwhile, learning from some research results, it puts forward the general program to improve teachers' specialization, including some regulations, resources and service management. In the end. the school-centred training pattern is suggested to accelerate teachers' self-improvement, which takes advantage of the school resources and encourages teachers to reflect and help each other. What's more, making friends with some famous schools also works a lot. I hope that improving the whole level of rural teachers not only satisfies the requirements of rapid urbanization but also enhances rural educational situation to guarantee the balanced development between urban and rural education.
