| With the establishment of the villager's autonomy in the 1980's, as the common rules and agreements of self-management, self-service, self-restraint, the village regulation and nongovernmental agreement has played an important role in the maintenance of the order of rural production and living, in the adjustment of the distribution of collective resources.however, the village regulation and nongovernmental agreement"evidence-based"deprive the right of"out-married woman"and other groups in the distribution of collective resources. The discrimination against women in the distribution of collective resources in rural areas will strengthen boy- prefer which is deep-rooted in the Chinese traditional culture , while boy-prefer is the underlying causes for imbalance of the sex ratio at birth in our country . To Analysis of the reasons in-depth for the existence of gender inequality in the village regulation and nongovernmental agreement,and to explore the adjustment methods will help to promote it to serve men and women equally,to solve the imbalance of sex ratio at birth ultimatly.This paper analyses the relevant information obtained from literature studies and in-depth interviews in the methods of qualitative research and quantitative research,and explore the causes of gender inequality in the village regulation and nongovernmental agreement from the perspective of social relations analysis theory and rational action theory, and try to explore the methods to adjust the village regulation and nongovernmental agreement. This paper, based on rational action theory, attributes the problem of gender inequality in village regulation and nongovernmental agreement at two levels which is individual rationality and social structures, and focus on three areas at the individual rational level:one's gender and cultural concepts, the strengthen of economic interests as well as lack of legal concept of gender equality, and focus on three causes which construct gender inequality in the village regulation and nongovernmental agreement at the level of social structure also,community system, the state authority and the family institution .Finally, this paper address that in order to deal with the gender inequality in village regulation and nongovernmental agreement,we need for a clean-up and specificating of the village regulation and nongovernmental agreement, an improvement of gender awareness for leading cadres and grass-roots groups, a changing of the customs and traditions, an innovation of institution system, and promoting gender equality brought into village regulation and nongovernmental agreement. |
