The arts curriculum standard of elementary and middle schools in the period of Republic of China was promulgated for the first time in 1912, afterwards it had been revised eight times and promulgated again which influenced at that time extremely. This article makes the Tuan teaching of elementary and middle schools arts curriculum standard in the period of republic of China as the object of study, regards the time as a longitudinal clue, takes the teaching content for reference, makes the changing on the Tuan teaching as the breakthrough to study the character and the demand of elementary and middle schools Tuan teaching. But the arts curriculum standard was not carried out completely, according to the disjointedness of practice and standard,The article conducts in-depth study, through multi-angle of view to disclose the true character of the curriculum standard promulgation and the implementation process in the period of republic of China. In the article, we review and study the Tuan teaching history of the period of Republic of China and this historical fact still has the vital practical significance and certain historical value to the Tuan and design teaching nowadays.
