At the beginning of the 21 century, China has begun a new pilot phase of high school curriculum reform. These new changes have occurred as the curriculum reform for basic education continues with Chinese coursework characterized by and emphasis on diversity and individuality. Guided by the new Curriculum Project, Chinese elective courses are becoming more concerned with the development of a student's learning ability and personality than it was previously. Based on students'needs, they require more changes in the structure and implementation of the curriculum, which leads to a tendency in the teaching process with generative traits. However, for teachers with an established traditional perspective on curriculum it is hard for them to abandon a knowledge based curriculum. This results in a conflict which should be studied and resolved when it is combined with the lack of guidance in applying the national curriculum to the daily classes, the predetermined standards and the generation of the curriculum become contradictory. In this context, the project"the network resource development and implementation of the Chinese elective course model of high school new curriculum"was started as one of the serious and complex projects among the entire curriculum reform in the beijing area. This experiment integrates information technology with other curriculums, which allows for breakthroughs in resolving the contradiction between predetermination and the generation of the curriculum. And also, it offers a chance to study teaching with generative traits. Based on the study of relative theories and the analysis of the cases from the project, this paper discusses the generative traits of the curriculum in a network environment and how it works so as to provide references for such teaching of high school Chinese elective courses in the future. The paper consists of five parts:1. Introducing this research objective, approach and contents2. Sort out and summarize the studies of curriculums with generative traits3. Discuss the thinking bases of the generative of curriculum and our understanding about it4. Based on the studies and analysis of the characteristics of the cases from the project, discourse upon how the curriculum generates in the network platform.5. Summarize the effects the network brings for the curriculum in the cases, and its meanings for the high school Chinese electives courses...
