Along with the development of IT and the curriculum reform of the Basic English Education continued to deepen,the teaching environment and teaching content of primary English has been dramatically changed.The traditional model of instruction has been unable to adapt to the requirements of the primary English education informationization,and cannot show the new concept of curriculum reform in education.How to reform the teaching model of primary English has become an urgent problem which needs English educators to solve.The emergency of educational game not only injects fresh life into classroom teaching but also provides new means of teaching for improve the quality of teaching and at the same time provides a new way to practice the educational philosophy which the new curriculum reform advocates.In order to improve the primary English classroom teaching,change the traditional teacher-centered teaching structure,create a new type of teaching environment and nurture the ability of the students' self-study.At the same time in order to promote the understanding of primary English teachers on educational game,provide guidance for them in the selection of educational game and in the application process of education game,so that the teachers in the teaching process can more effective use the educational game,the author put up applied research of the educational game in the primary English teaching.This research chose Grade Three schoolchildren in No.1 Experimental Primary School of Jimo as experimental subjects,the author design related case that the application of the educational game in the English teaching,experienced primary English teachers make teaching practice;author attends the lecture and observes the process of the teaching experiment.The result indicated that educational game is useful to enhance the quality in English teaching by this supplementary means.It helped to cultivate schoolchildren's ability of obtaining and making use of information and the ability of more flexible self-studying.It is useful to expand the fields for Integrating Information Technology into curriculum and to accelerate the informationization of English education in primary school.This thesis consists of six chapters;Chapter 1 mainly discussed the research background, and the production and development of the educational game at home and abroad,the research content as well as the method which the research used.Chapter 2 defines the concept of educational game in detail,generalizes and summarizes the classification and characteristics of educational game.Chapter 3,Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 are the main part of this thesis.Chapter 3 bases on the present situation which the application of the educational game in primary English teaching,introduces parts of educational game resources and analyses the application value. Chapter 4 on the basis of the previous chapter has constructed the application model which utilizes educational game auxiliary primary English word,listening,grammar and the pronunciation teaching.Each model are provided with some relative teaching cases which present the application of education game in English teaching of primary school.Chapter 5 describes the teaching experiment's process,analysis the effectiveness of teaching experiments and reflects the practice that the educational game used in English teaching.Chapter 6 concludes this research and provides the reference in future research.
