Analysis Of Civic Awareness Training, College Student Organization As A Carrier

Since reform and opening up policy was implemented 30 years ago, China has made great achievements in economic construction. Such problems as how to be more adapted to economic reform for promoting socialism with Chinese characteristics in the construction of political civilization, how to build a harmonious society in order tomaintain long-term social stability and sustainable economic development......In myview, the building of democratic politics can not be separated from citizens, especially inseparable from the proper civic awareness of citizens. Only the modernization of people can promote social development with harmony, rapidity and persistence. Universities should be duty-bound to assume the duties of cultivating citizens, to train qualified citizens as a top priority, to strengthen the civic awareness training of students, to inspired citizens ideological consciousness and to cultivate citizenship. This thesis presents the view that student associations might be used as the medium to cultivate civic awareness.Civic education is a more and more attention to the issue of the theoretical circle in the building of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the construction of political civilization. Citizenship is not the identity of a private, it is reflected through participation in public life, in which citizen participates in activities of public life and cultivates civic awareness. Consequently, when selecting the subject of how to bring out functions of student associations in the cultivation of civic awareness, the author discovers that there are few studies on this subject, and domestic universities are also not keen on working on this topic.This thesis analyzes the importance, necessity and urgency of cultivating civic awareness from the formation and connotation of civic awareness, old China feudal ideas on the impact of China's democratic construction, university students' civic awareness of the status quo and building socialism with Chinese characteristics of political civilization to better play its role in civil society organizations and so on. Also from the theoretical and practical perspectives, the thesis discusses the feasibility and rationality of student associations as the medium of cultivating civic awareness. Meanwhile, several exploration models of civic awareness training in student associations have been put forward. Through the research of this topic, I wish the researchers and administrators of universities can pay more attention to the building of student associations which can create a vivid classroom for civic education, and make student associations play a greater role. I wish university students can consciously regard student associations as the base for training civil behavior, improve their own quality of the citizens, gradually raise the consciousness of participation in social and public affairs and the capacity of dealing with social and public affairs, finally , become a qualified citizen who is adapting to the progress of China's democratic construction.
