Cultural identity is a social and psychological process,in which individual is assimilated by his culture groups or other cultural groups and regarding himself as a member of the group,so that he can obtain,maintain and innovate his culture.Cultural identity is consisted of social values,recognized norms,religious identity, customs identity,language recognition,and arts recognition and so on.In the past few years,Shanghai suburban school recruit a large number graduates who come from other provinces.These novice teachers who are non-Shanghai are the future of the schools.Therefore,to research their culture identity with their workplace and make proposals will contribute to the development of these schools in the future. The study researched several teachers in Husong primary school,showing their culture identity process by interviewing and observing.The thesis based on the perspective of cultural sociology,using Breakwell &Lyons' cultural identity theory including cultural comparison,cultural categorization,cultural identification and cultural definition four basic processes --to study culture identity of several new teachers in Husong primary school.The result of the study shows that the process of culture identity of new teachers is a long time,thereare many problems in it,such as the cultural value systems of school is not systematic,too frequent training;leadership of the school teachers are not enough concerned with the teachers who are not-Shanghai.The teachers are not born in Shanghai also have some problems,they lack effective communication,dialogue with teachers born in shanghai.All of these problems should be brought to our attention.To increase culture identity of teachers who were not born in shanghai,we can start from the following aspects:1)to build a good school cultural values system,promoting effectiveness of teacher culture management;2)to emphasize on the quality and accomplishment of school leadership,and display school leaders' function to update culture identity;3)to strengthen new teachers' cultural construction, and enhancing the level of school culture;4)to upgrade non-Shanghais' activity;5)to strengthen teachers and non-teachers Shanghai membership communications and exchanges.
