The adult education is the key composition part of the educational undertaking in our country. Under the background of the current development of the lifelong education and construction of the study-type society, the adult education is facing the new developing opportunities, at the same time, also reveals some questions and shortages that will effect the sustained development of Chinese adult education if they are not be well dealt with. In this thesis, starting with analysis of the current status of the Chinese adult education, in this field, the questions urgently settled has been introspected and concluded, and the development of characteristic and experience on Britannic, Germanic, stateside, and so on, adult education have been investigated, on the basis of which, foundation of the sustained development mode of the Chinese adult education that needs accommodate times development has been considered and studied combining the theory with the practice. In this thesis, it is thank that, if the sustained development of our country adult education in a new history period is realized, it needs to establish the construction of the adult education with perfect system, rational configuration, remarkable emphasis, and, that accommodating times development is aimed at, the management hierarchy of the adult education guided by nature and administered by region is established, the support mechanism of the adult education is well constituted, and favorable development circumstance is built. With the last two aspects, it can be commenced as following: by governing instruction with law, the adult education is promoted to come under the rule of law, and we need to increase the devotion, multi-channel investment and fund-raising, change concept, eliminate the laggard idea, renovate technology, develop long-distance education, train teacher and resource, and improve the practitioners' specialty diathesis.
