| Along with the innovation of the incoming course advance, "paying close attention to social central point, embodying the spirit of STS, emphasizing theorization relating to practicality, and filtering scientific research methods" means important thought of course innovation and important feature of the innovation of the collage entrance examination. Traditional physics education is facing the challenge from the development of modem society. Physics is considered as a "dull" and "difficult "subject not only because of traditional teaching materials and its pedagogy but also related to the nature of physics itself as a subject. Therefore, in order to meet the demand of the development of our society, physics education has to break through its nest in which education reform was only focused on the changes in teaching materials and pedagogy. Based on the theory of cognitive psychology, this study attempts to adopt the investigative analysis method and following systematic, scientific and comprehensive approach to research the process in which the middle schools students solve STS problems.One the one hand, this study provides a scientific research basis to the incoming course of physics education. On the other, it is also a fresh case study in applying psychology theory to educational practice. This study emphasizes particularly on the following three main aspects:(1) characteristics and education function of STS physics problems:calculating and analyzing the genre of STS physics problem in examination and in teaching materials of the incoming course of physics these years; researching the psychology course and strategy in which to solve STS problem effectively based on the theory of cognitive psychology; analyzing the cost and educational function of physics education by utilizing STS problems.(2) the research on difficulty elements of STS physics problem:this study analyzed the analysis and accumulation of hundreds of various difficult physics problems which students met from Senior Grade 1 to Grade 3; then it put forward "THREE-DIMENSIONAL DIFFICULTIES MODEL"; next, the problem were classified and each was further analyzed and each dimensionality of difficulties variable was assured at last. On this condition, the variables of difficulty factor were controlled one by one, then I inserted the designed contrast problem to correlative examination paper and chose 112 students from Grade 2 as testees. And then the difference markedness of difficulty factor was checked up by utilizing testing method of the education statistics. After the test, I asked some students about the reasons of error, and predominated much front line data at last.Based on the theory of cognitive psychology, I probed into 10 variables of "three-dimensional difficulties".(3) research on elements that influence the resolving of STS problems and teaching strategy:This study focuses on discussing the influence of several intellect factors and interests to resolving STS problem through "structure of knowledge, ideation, sense datum, emotion and attitude" ect.
