Based on an open-ended questionnaire, talking face and face with some students and literature pertinent, the study analyzes the frustration and the coping characteristics of college students in their study and everyday life. According to relevant scales at home and abroad and experts' suggestions, we compile the frustration tolerance questionnaire of college students and the reliability and validity were tested out. Then the status of college students' frustration tolerance was investigated through the formal questionnaire, in which characteristics were studied. At last several suggestions were proposed to educate the college students according to the characteristics of the college students' frustration tolerance.The main results of this study are as follows:(1) The self-designed frustration tolerance questionnaire of college students is of high reliability and fair validity. According to the results of factor analysis, six major dimensions are found in frustration tolerance of college students: physiological factor, positive frustration cognition, negtive frustration cognition, character feature, mood adjusting and other person sustaion.(2) The frustration tolerance level of each dimension form highest to lowest ranges as follows: other person sustaion, physiological factor, character feature, positive frustration cognition, mood adjusting, negtive frustration cognition.(3) The genders difference analysis shows that: the difference of the general frustration tolerance between males and females is significant: the scores of males are statistically higher than that of females. However in the factors of physiological factor, positive frustration cognition and negtive frustration cognition, on which males significantly superior to females. The factor of the other person sustaion, on which the score of females are significantly higher than that of males some significant differences exist.(4)The grades difference analysis shows that: there were significant difference in grade on general frustration tolerance and all factors. Further analyze during the grates show that: freshman show a best level on frustration tolerance, the senoir show a lowest level on frustration tolerance, the sophomore and junior students' frustration tolerance level are lower than the freshman and higher than the senior.(5)No significant difference between urban and rural students has been found in general frustration tolerance, but the scores of urban students are higher than that of rural students. However in the factors of other person sustaion and character feature on which urban students significantly superior to rural students. Only in the factors of physiological factor the rural students' scores are higher than that of the urban students.
