Urban Space And Crime

With the accelerating process of urbanization, the crime in our city has become more and more serious. In this paper, the author tries to discuss how to prevent crime through space design . This paper is composed of three parts. Part I, the relation of the city macroscopic view space and crime in cities is studied; Part II, the relation of the city inside space and crime in cities is studied; Based on part I and part II, In part III the crime problem in Kunming and the space where the crime in Kunming is usually committed. So the example of the space reform is discussed.Based on Environment-Behavior and Behavior-Geography, the city resident how to be affected by city space on mentality and behavior is studied. At the same time city space how to effect the criminal on mentality and behavior is studied. By researching on various inactive city spaces, the ultimate purpose is to apply some enlighten for urban planning and city design。Ultimate purpose is creating safety and happy life space,to achieve Crime Prevention.
